One of our members and a former Chairman, Dr Hugh Frostick, has recently published a book of old photos of Little Bromley. Read about it on the Little Bromley village website (also by Hugh!).

In our October 2022 meeting, Angela Grayston gave us an illustrated talk with background on the Tendring Workhouse, and Alan Hillier shared snippets of interesting stories from Manager's Logs and explained settlement parish and other insights.

"The Day War came to Clacton on Sea" is a new booklet from the Clacton VCH Group.

On the 30th April 1940 a German plane crashed on the town, bringing death, injury and destruction to properties. Told for the first time, with images some of which are published for the first time, a map, and a chronology. This is a comprehensive record of that day and beyond to 2017 with the new memorial.
